Be My Eyes: connects people needing sighted support with volunteers and companies anywhere in the world, through live video and artificial intelligence.
BeSpecular: A new remote assistance service provides human sighted assistance via messages. For example, you take a picture of something and they will describe it.
Boop Light Detector: detects levels of light and interpret this information with sound. It allows its blind and visually impaired users to detect whether lights are on or off. It covers a broad range of light levels which span from sensing daylight through open windows to checking whether the indicator light is on for a WIFI router.
Seeing AI: narrates the world around you. Designed with and for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world. Seeing AI assists with daily tasks from reading, to describing photos, to identifying products, and more.
Caption Bot: Identifies and captions your photos. When you upload a photo, it is sent to Microsoft for image analysis to return a caption.
Cash Reader: Identifies the largest number of world currencies: from Europe to Australia. Assistive technology which reads money value aloud and with ease. Created with accessibility in mind. Point your phone’s camera in a direction of a note and the app will tell you the denomination in real-time. Don’t worry about the light, angle or focusing!
EyeNote: a free mobile device application developed by Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) as an aid for blind or visually impaired individuals to identify denominations of Federal Reserve notes from Series 1996 to the present. EyeNote® is built on the Apple iOS platform.
Speechify: – read aloud docs, articles, PDFs, email – anything you read by listening with our leading text to speech reader for desktop and mobile devices. Enjoy text to speech in 30 languages with multiple voices in each language that sounds natural.
DigitEyes: a unique iPhone app that enables people who are visually-impaired or who have problems reading to identify items using their iPhone, iPod or iPad. Digit-Eyes reads manufacturer’s UPC and EAN code and tells you the product name — and often the full description, usage instructions and ingredients — in 10 languages. Using Digit-Eyes, inexpensive off-the-shelf office supplies and a standard inkjet or laser printer, you’ll be able to record audio labels or make text labels that are read aloud by your phone.
